Full Time Positions

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Sales & Marketing responsible for developing new and existing business by conducting on-going sales solicitation efforts for national, regional and state conventions, tradeshows, consumer shows and social functions, as well as maintaining client relationships for renewal contracts. Must also work closely with Visit Corpus Christi. Oversee Sales Managers and Marketing staff including advertising, public relations, and related tasks.

The Event Coordinator is responsible for providing professional client service support in the planning, organization and management of events within the facility, and monitoring the logistics of these events, and all events coordination tasks after events are booked through conclusion. They serve as a primary liaison between clients and facility departments. Bachelor’s degree preferred a minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for similar facility.

The Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of corporate sponsorship sales activities at all three facilities.  This position will be focused on working with the General Manager and the Marketing to obtain mutually beneficial partnerships through sales efforts, deliverable fulfillment and successful renewals.

Monitors and supervises front of the house activities relating to food and beverage service for facility events.

Part Time

Event Staff is responsible for assisting patrons during events in ushering, ticket taking, concierge, and guest services. Will be required to have open availability to work events on an on-going basis including weekends, evenings and holidays. A minimum, of one (1) year experience in customer service sector is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work indoors and outdoors as required by the function. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), at times, walking and/or standing up to 6-10 hours daily, as well as the ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds. This position is also exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise, fumes, etc.

Responsible for the working with Changeover leads to assist with daily activities required to run, to maintain, and to service the facility. Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operations procedures for all machinery and equipment. Assures facility readiness and smooth operation of events. High School diploma or G.E.D. required and a minimum of one (1) years experience performing building changeovers in an entertainment facility with a demanding schedule. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), at times, walking and/or standing up to 8-14 hours daily as well as the ability to kneel, climb to walkways or balance, frequently lift in the excess of 50 pounds. This position is also exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise, fumes etc.

Parking Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility’s parking operations by performing the following duties personally or through parking staff. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position is required to work both indoors and outdoors including in inclement weather as needed. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), at times, walking and/or standing up to 6-12 hours daily. Applicants must be 18 years of age. Applicants must pass credit and background check. Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsible for safely and effectively directing traffic flow and placement of vehicles within assigned area of responsibility. Assist in resolving parking issues including but not limited to VIP parking, ADA parking, Valet parking, traffic flow, and shuttle assistance as required. Responsible for following all parking cash handling procedures. High School diploma or G.E.D. required and a minimum of six (6) months of cash handling or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), at times, walking and/or standing up to 8-14 hours daily as well as the ability to frequently lift in the excess of 25 pounds. This position is also exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise fumes etc.

Responsible for observing and reporting activities and incidents at assigned area, providing safety for clients’ property and facility assets. Patrols assigned location monitoring unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. Able to maintain accurate record/time keeping of security logs. High school education or equivalent, must be a non-commissioned officer as mandated by the State of Texas. Must have physical ability to maneuver around facility(ies), standing up to 8-14 hours and frequently lift in the excess of 25 pounds.

A Cashier must have basic working knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures. Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count and handle money. An Attendant assists with the preparation of the food for sale, bringing the food to cashier as it is ordered by the customer. Cashier must have a minimum of 6 months of cash handling & customer service experience. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance preferred, walk long distances in a short amount of time and stand for long periods of time. Applicants must have a valid TABC & Food Handlers permit. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings & holidays. A minimum of 1 year customer service and cash handling experience required for Cashier Position.

Responsible for supervising service, communicates with management on details of the event to ensure proper staffing, equipment, and special arrangements, ensures food quality and presentation is accurate and up to standards. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels on the floor to meet the demands of the event. They are involved in maintaining proper inventory. Applicants must have a valid TABC & Food Handlers permit and be able to work a flexible schedule including weekend, evenings & holidays. A minimum of 2 years server experience preferred and 1 year of supervisory experience.

This position serves food and beverage during catering and suite events at the facility and ensures patrons receive quality service. Must have High School diploma or G.E.D. 1-2 years serving experience, and a valid TABC and Food Handlers Permit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long hours. Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Ensures bars and bar service areas inventories are replenished at all times. Ensures guest satisfaction, beverage quality, and cleanliness. Has knowledge of bar supplies and common drinks being served. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent & 1-2 years experience in food service and/or working in a bar environment. Must be TABC (Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission) & Food Handler certified.

Responsible for preparing recipes as directed and maintain full knowledge of food items. Must maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance. Must take direction well and work well with others. Applicants must have a valid Food Handlers permit and be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evening, & holidays.

Responsible for stocking, replenishing and transferring product to concession stand/carts. Assist with receiving deliveries. Assist with pre-event setup and post-event breakdown. This position requires stooping, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted. It requires moving/transporting weight up to 170 lbs. with assistance and proper equipment. Must be able to walk long distances in a short amount of time. Applicants must have a valid TABC & Food Handlers permit. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings & holidays. A minimum of 2 years’ employment history is required.

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. using machine and manual cleaning methods.

Responsible for fulfilling the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO). Maintaining all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance. Must be creative in designing buffet food presentations. Prepares recipes as directed. Maintains full knowledge of food items pertinent to the event, maintains a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.

Assists customers, clients, events staff, tenants, employees and the general public by operating a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls, providing information, and delivering any other customer service needed.
