 September 2, 2009 - ONE NIGHT STAND-UP IS BACK SEPTEMBER 26TH
American Bank Center/SMG will be opening the doors of the American Bank Center Spotlight Cabaret for another night of comedy on Saturday, September 26th with two shows starting at 7:00pm and 10:00pm with One Night Stand-Up presented by The Vent. The Grand Opening of the Spotlight Cabaret last weekend proved to be a huge success as comics performed to a thrilled sold out crowd. The two show times on Saturday, September 26th will serve a larger audience due to the limited 250 seats available in the Spotlight Cabaret Theater.
The upcoming One Night Stand-Up show will be hosted by local favorite Berto Garcia featuring Raymond Orta, Michael Burks, and the comedians from The Beards Improv group. Michael Burks is a San Antonio native and a talented stand up comedian. Burks performs stand-up comedy touching on topics such as growing up, dating, married life, and the results of poor decision making. Michael’s website is www.theunfunny.com/talent/michael-burks. Raymond Orta’s comedic performance certainly out-sizes his small hometown of La Joya, Texas. Orta specializes in witty impersonations and sound effects. His raw, edgy style landed him as a finalist in the 2009 Funniest Person in South Texas competition and got him a gig opening locally for Carlos Mencia. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 4th at 5:00pm. General Admission tickets for One Night Stand-Up are only $9.
