STARS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
WELCOMES BLAKE SHELTON TO THE AMERICAN BANK CENTER

The Stars Scholarship Fund is proud to announce that the 2012 Corpus Christi Stars Extravaganza will feature the reigning ACM and CMA Awards Male Vocalist of the Year, BLAKE SHELTON. Blake is one of the “most versatile of contemporary country singers” (The New York Times). His current single, “Over” is already a Top 10 hit and is his fourth single off Red River Blue, which was GRAMMY nominated for Country Album of the Year.

Blake is not only one of the hottest vocalists in country music, but he is also a coach on NBC’s top rated hit show, “The Voice” whose third season kicks off on September 10. Blake has 11 #1 chart-topping singles to his name and has not had a single chart outside the Top 10 since 2007. Blake will welcome special guest, JERROD NIEMANN for this event.

The Stars Extravaganza is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2012. Tickets for Blake Shelton will be on sale to the public on Friday – August 3rd at 10:00am at the American Bank Center Box Office, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. Floor seats are reserved for Stars sponsors and will not be available for purchase by the public.

This year, Stars celebrates ten years of service to south Texas. Stars is proud of the partnerships that have been formed with hundreds of local businesses, organizations, college and universities since inception in 2002. Together the community has helped raise nearly $17 million since its start a decade ago. The Stars Scholarship Fund has helped over 8,000 students from south Texas receive a higher education through scholarships.

Due to the success of the 2011 Extravaganzas in Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo, Stars is preparing to award an additional $2.2 million in scholarships and assist over 1,000 students for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The funds available for scholarships are directly dependent on the success of our annual Extravaganzas. Each year, top entertainers are featured making this one of the premier events in South Texas. Previous entertainers have included Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and many others.

We invite local businesses to support our initiatives by becoming sponsors of the 2012 Corpus Christi Extravaganza. Our sponsors enjoy the benefits of attending the Extravaganza, which includes a private event prior to the performance by Blake Shelton and year round media exposure. The Stars Scholarship Fund’s operating expenses are largely underwritten by L&F Distributors, LLC and Anheuser-Busch. This fact enables Stars to apply 100% of the contributions made by sponsors towards student scholarships.

To become a sponsor of the 2012 STARS Extravaganza in Corpus Christi or for more information on the Stars Scholarship Fund, please contact Stars at info@StarsScholarship.org or visit our website at www.StarsScholarship.org.
