Lone Star Championship Series to come to American Bank Center Exhibit Hall
(Corpus Christi, TX January 28, 2015)
– The American Bank Center is happy to welcome the Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club for its first ever girls’ junior volleyball power league tournament – the Lone Star Championship Series Corpus Christi Stop (LSCS-CC). The tournament is hosted by the Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club and will take place at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall, on Saturday, January 31 from 8:00am-9:00pm and on Sunday, February 1 from 8:00-5:00pm. The tournament will include two divisions, combining for 60 teams from the Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston areas.
This tournament is an integral component of the nationally recognized Tour of Texas Power League, which serves as the premier Texas pathway to the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championship (Junior Olympics) and AAU Girls’ Junior National Championship. As one of the strongest volleyball leagues in the country, the Tour of Texas attracts college recruiters from all over the nation to witness the competition and to seek out the future stars of college volleyball. The top 12 teams from each age category at the Tour of Texas Qualifier will join 12 prequalified teams from the prior year power league. These 24 teams will move on to the Tour of Texas – Stop 1 (Dallas) and the Tour of Texas – Stop 2 (Houston). Teams finishing in places 13-24 at the Tour of Texas Qualifier qualify for the Lone Star Championship Series and move on to the Lone Star Championship Series – Stop 1 (Corpus Christi) and the Lone Star Championship Series – Stop 2 (Houston). This will still be an extremely competitive level of play.

The Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club (former Corpus Christi Crossfire Volleyball Club) strives to provide quality volleyball training and competition to female athletes from 9-18 years of age through clinics, camps, and highly competitive tournament play. In 2014, the Club’s 141 team became the first local volleyball team to earn the title of “National Champions” when they won the AAU Girls’ Junior National Championship in Orlando, Florida. In 2013, the Club’s 151 team succeeded in becoming one of 24 Teams in the United States to Qualify for USA Division of USAV Girls Junior National Championship Tournament, finishing 19.
The Lone Star Championship Series Volleyball Tournament will be held at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall on January 31 - February 1, 2015. Tournaments start at 8:00am each day
and ticket Prices will be $5, $10. Tickets will be available at the door.
