American Bank Center Hosts MAC Selena World Premier
Thousands of fans came to the American Bank Center making it the
highest grossing launch for MAC Cosmetics

(Corpus Christi, TX October 4, 2016) On Friday, September 30, SMG managed American Bank Center was host to the MAC Selena World Premier in partnership with Dillard’s. After much planning, the Quintanilla family teamed up with MAC to hold the iconic launch in Selena’s hometown of Corpus Christi, TX. The event was divided into two parts, the shopping experience which was held in the Henry Garrett Ballrooms, and the entertainment experience which took place in the arena that included live DJ performances and special guest Prince Royce closed out the concert.

With lineup that began as early as 4am for the public, American Bank Center welcomed thousands of guests from all over the United States such as Colorado, New Mexico, and Seattle. Fans also came in from Honduras, Mexico City and Columbia. Both the shopping and entertainment experiences included full shopping opportunities allowing fans to purchase the MAC Selena collection with an interactive element such as live social media screens for all fans to enjoy.

SMG managed American Bank Center welcomed thousands of patrons from all over into the venue’s doors but American Bank Center was also host to hundreds of Dillard’s and MAC Makeup employees. Top Mac makeup artists from all over the United States were hand-picked by Mac to come as representatives and help with the official launch as well as local and national Dillard’s employees. This proved to be beneficial for the economic impact for the city of Corpus Christi as local downtown hotels welcomed high numbers of guests.

American Bank Center reached many high numbers on social media. Due to the overwhelming messages received, American Bank Center had to use the Facebook Live feature that allowed the venue to communicate with patrons in real time and get all questions answered at once. The MAC Selena launch also reached worldwide trending numbers on both Twitter and Instagram and the recent launch of the American Bank Center’s Snapchat reached followers in the thousands.
