Stars Scholarship Fund Announces featured entertainer

For the 14th Annual Stars Extravaganza in CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx.


 Corpus Christi, Texas (January 27, 2017) – Stars Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce that acclaimed late night TV show host and Stand-up comedian, Jay Leno will be the featured entertainer at the 14th Annual Stars Extravaganza to be held on Wednesday – March 15, 2017 at the American Bank Center Selena Auditorium.


Tickets to enjoy Jay Leno Live in Concert will be on sale to the public on Friday – February 3, 2017 at 10:00am at the American Bank Center Box Office or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. All proceeds benefit Stars Scholarship Fund. Orchestra level seats are reserved for sponsors of the Stars Extravaganza and will not be available for purchase by the public.

We invite private and corporate citizens to support our initiatives of assisting students from our community have access to a higher education by becoming sponsors of the 14th Annual Stars Extravaganza. Our sponsors are offered a special experience of attending the Extravaganza itself, which includes a private event with cocktails, a plated dinner and a high-energy live auction followed by a performance by Jay Leno at the American Bank Center Selena Auditorium. Our sponsors receive year-round recognition and media exposure.


“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” dominated late night TV with more than two decades of consecutive top television. Leno has also gained an international following on the web and an Emmy Award for “Jay Leno’s Garage” of which he is a producer as well as star.  An untiring performer, Leno loves to test his humor live on audiences across the nation, performing over 100 live appearances in nightclubs, theaters and stadiums each year.

As individuals and businesses look at ways that they can give back to our community, we ask that they consider supporting the 14th Annual Corpus Christi Stars Extravaganza. A philanthropic investment in Stars Scholarship Fund directly helps fund scholarships, as we commit to applying 100% of sponsorship funds to student scholarships. Stars Scholarship Fund operating expenses are proudly covered by L&F Distributors and Anheuser-Busch. In addition, our partnerships with Texas colleges and universities enable Stars Scholarship Fund to have sponsor donations matched, allowing our funds to have a greater impact in our community.

About Stars Scholarship Fund

Stars Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization committed to promoting access to and success in higher education for all students in our community. Based in McAllen, Texas, Stars offers scholarships to students from south and west Texas who are dedicated to completing a degree at an accredited college or university.


To date, Stars Scholarship Fund has awarded $25.7 million in scholarships to over 12,500 students since inception and is in the process of disbursing an additional $2.3 million in scholarship awards for this 2016/2017 academic year. The number of scholarships Stars Scholarship Fund can award is directly related to the success of our Extravaganzas, therefore we strive to ensure each Extravaganza is better than the last.
