22ND ANNUAL FEAST OF SHARING HOLIDAY DINNER

Event Details: H-E-B will host its 22nd Annual Feast of Sharing dinner on Friday, December 24th, 2010 from 11am to 3pm at the American Bank Center Convention Center. An H-E-B tradition for residents throughout the Gulf Coast community, this is an opportunity for friends, family members and neighbors to come together and enjoy a free holiday meal and live entertainment.

Hundreds of H-E-B partners and community volunteers will work together to prepare and serve more than 13,000 meals to residents of Corpus Christi on December 24th. All together, 3,625 lbs of glazed ham; 13,000 tamales; 115 gallons of mashed potatoes; 3,200 lbs of green beans; 170 gallons of brown gravy; 1,050 pies; 13,000 dinner rolls; and soft drinks will be served.

H-E-B volunteers will also prepare and package meals to be delivered to 1500 homebound individuals in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas who are unable to attend the feast. Attendees of the Feast of Sharing dinner will enjoy live entertainment with performances by a variety of local and regional artists; a children's area where kids will enjoy face painting and crafts.

H-E-B's commitment and involvement in the community has been recognized as an important part of the way the company does business. The twenty-two-year Feast of Sharing Dinner tradition started in Laredo and Corpus Christi, Texas in 1988. H-E-B's Feast of Sharing dinners have now grown to 31 locations that serve more than 250,000 meals to people throughout Texas and Mexico during the months of November and December.

The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will provide FREE accessible service to the 22nd Annual Feast of Sharing event. Riders traveling from anywhere in the Corpus Christi and surrounding service areas may claim the FREE ride on any accessible service by simply telling the bus operator "I'm traveling to the Feast of Sharing Event". This includes ADA paratransit eligible B-Line customers who schedule a trip for "Feast of Sharing" by December 23rd. RTA has provided FREE transportation to the Feast of Sharing event for over twenty years.
