Event Details: After a sold out concert last March, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan will return to the American Bank Center's Selena Auditorium March 7, 2009.

Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan is a 12-piece group based out of Mexico City. The group has been in existence for 111 years and five generations and is made up of some of the best voices and musicians in all of Latin America. The group mesmerizes audiences throughout the world with their unique arrangements of traditional mariachi sones, huapangos, boleros, rancheras and classical selections. Mariachi Vargas has recorded more than 90 CDs and has been featured in over 200 films and music videos. The group is known for recording with hundreds of artists including Luis Miguel on his Grammy Award-winning CD Mexico en la Piel and Linda Ronstadt during her Canciones de mi padre tour.

Mariachi Vargas will perform in a grand concert featuring songs from their latest CDs Veinte de Puro Amor and Y Aqui Estamos.
