Event Details: Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, recognized internationally as “el major mariachi del mundo” (the greatest mariachi in the world), will return for the 3rd consecutive year to the stage at the American Bank Center Selena Auditorium on Sunday, February 27, 2010 at 7:30pm. Mariachi Vargas will feature songs from their latest recordings Mas de 112 Años…Y Aqui Estamos and La Inspiracion de Sus Integrantes which is a compilation of original songs written by each of the members of the group. They will also perform classic fan favorites such as Sabes Una Cosa, Por Amor, and La Bikina. Mariachi Vargas are masters at the art of melding the old world style of mariachi music with new innovative pieces that inspire audiences.

Now in their 5th generation Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán is a 13-piece group made up of some of the best musicians and vocalists from throughout Mexico. The group is based in Mexico City and has performed for 112 years to sold out audiences throughout the world including Spain, Japan, and the Czech Republic. More than 75 CDs have been recorded by Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán since 1897.
