About the Corpus Christi Sharks: It’s Official! The af2 Corpus Christi team will now be known as the Corpus Christi Sharks.

The name was chosen out of more than two-thousand entries in the “Name the Team” contest held in November 2006. The winner of the contest is Ruben Perez from Portland. Mr. Perez will be presented with two game jerseys and two season tickets to see the af2 Corpus Christi Sharks kick off their first season in March 2007.

The newest members of the American Bank Center family will proudly sport Blue and Gold uniforms.

American Bank Center Arena is excited and honored to host the newest professional league of sports entertainment in Corpus Christi. Sports fans in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas have already given the af2 a warm welcome by embracing the opportunity to name the team. The opening season and those to follow will undoubtedly be a success.
