| July 21, 2005 - Intocable produced their first record 10 years ago and they have been unstoppable ever since. Their record sales are phenomenal with more than six million albums sold. The group sold-out three consecutive concerts in Mexico City just last year performing for more than 40,000 screaming fans. The American Bank Center is bringing Intocable’s dynamic show to the Arena on Friday, August 5.
Pablo Montero, one of the most powerful voices in traditional Mexican music, and Jennifer Pena, Corpus Christi’s own Tejano sensation, will take the stage before Intocable. Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations.
Pablo Montero has released five successful albums since 1999, starting with ¿Dónde Estas Corazón? That same year, he crossed over to the acting industry and took on a main role in the popular Latin soap opera Abrázame Muy Fuerte. It wasn’t long before he returned to his roots; he has been singing alongside his father since he was a child. His tribute to legendary Mexican singer Javier Solis released in spring 2003 earned him a nomination for a Latin Grammy Award.
Jennifer Pena first received mass appeal at the young of 12, when she performed a tribute to her idol, Selena, at Houston's Astrodome for 30,000 people in 1995. That is when the Latin music industry took notice of her and she burst into the music scene. She appeared in People Magazine, People En Espanol, Texas Monthly Magazine, Latina Magazine, Time Magazine, Planet Tejano Magazine, and on the Christina Show—just to name a few. Pena was named Tejano Music Award’s Female Artist of the Year in 1997. Pena moved to Los Angeles in 2002. She frequently performs in Mexico, gave a special performance at the White House for President Bush and his wife, and in less than three weeks she’ll be back at home at the American Bank Center Arena.
Tickets are on sale now and are available at the American Bank Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets including FYE Music Store, Foley's in Padre Staples Mall, Rich's in Sunrise Mall, and Let's Party in Portland or charge by phone at (361) 881-8499.
