August 3, 2005 - Nearly a month after his tour starts in California the American Bank Center will bring Luis Miguel to the Arena on Saturday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m.. The Mexico en la Piel Tour will put on nearly 60 shows in United States, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Mexico. Tickets go on sale for his Corpus Christi stop on Saturday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets.
Luis Miguel’s upcoming concert will embrace the sounds and songs that made Mexico en la Piel a best seller. The album established itself as one of the best selling albums in the ranchero music genre surpassing sales of 1.5 million copies worldwide. It debuted at #1 in Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and was awarded Billboard’s Best Regional Mexican Album for 2005. In Mexico alone the album has been certified as Diamond, double platinum in Argentina and Venezuela, platinum in Chile, United States and Spain, and Gold in Colombia.
Luis Miguel appeared in the world of entertainment as a child star—recording his first album the age of 12. He accomplished a feat so few artists have managed to do by breaking through the barriers of teenage stardom and capturing the hearts of adoring fans as an adult. In the United States, he has become the only Latino artist to have two Spanish language albums, Romance and Segundo Romance, go platinum. Romances has sold in excess of 4.5 million copies, and has also garnered over 50 platinum albums. He received four platinum and gold albums in Mexico for Amarte es un Placer. He has won a total of four GRAMMY’s and has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide throughout his career.
