November 19, 2007 - (November 19, 2007 – Corpus Christi, TX) Country music star, Clay Walker will join the line-up of impressive celebrities scheduled to perform for the December 30th Tex-Mex Fest: A Tribute to Freddy Fender. Clay Walker has been one of the busiest artists on the road since he first made a big splash on the country music scene in 1993 with his hit song “What’s It to You.” Walker’s eighth and latest album includes his first duet, a cover of “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” that he recorded with Freddy Fender.
Tex-Mex Fest promises to be an unforgettable night with an all-star line-up of Grammy Award-winners, including Little Joe y La Familia, Ruben Ramos, Johnny Rodriguez, Charlie Rich, Jr., featuring Augie Meyers, Flaco Jimenez both founding members of the Texas Tornados, and Emilio Navaira.
Assembled as much for their personal relationships with Freddy Fender as for their honest admiration of his unprecedented legacy, all the artists slated to appear at the tribute were his true brothers in music, artists who were very close, life-long friends with a man they will gather to remember on December 30th. All of them superstars in their own right, these are musicians at their peek who were Freddy Fender’s collaborators and contemporaries. Together, they created in a bold new world which left room for and indeed, some outstanding music.

It’s an evening of Celebrity Star Power artists delivering their distinctive flavors and style of Freddy Fender hits.
