In addition he has received 40 Dove Awards, an American Music Award, and three Grammy Awards. Smith won the Male Vocalist of the Year Award at the GMA Music Awards in 2003.

Spirit Jam II will generate much needed revenues for Metro Ministries’ seven programs, which help the poor and homeless: Rustic House, Vineyard Social and Volunteer Services, Vineyard Employment Services, Gabbard Memorial Health Clinic, Rainbow House—reopening Fall 2008, and Street Ministry Program. Metro Ministries is now in its 26th year of service working to reduce homelessness and poverty in the Coastal Bend.
