June 9, 2008 - New Owners Take Over Rayz Franchise
The puck doesn’t stop here, CHL hockey will be back for another season at American Bank Center Arena! Corpus Christi Rayz former owner, Doug Frank, officially handed over the reign and introduced the team’s new owners this afternoon at a press conference held at the Arena.
Doug Frank, President of WD Sports Texas, Inc., owned the Rayz in recent years and late last week he sold the ownership rights to a local group comprised of Tim Lange, Pat Dunn and Brent Chesney. The change in ownership comes just in time for the upcoming 08-09 season. “We’ve remained optimistic from the start, we want hockey in Corpus Christi and we want hockey at American Bank Center. This is a great day for everyone in the community, especially for the team’s loyal fans,” says Marc Solis, General Manager of American Bank Center.
The new owners will be working fast and furious in the next few weeks to get the team ready for the upcoming season. Current season ticket holders and anyone interested in purchasing season tickets should call (361) 814-7845 immediately to reserve their seats.
Additional announcements will be made soon regarding team staff, players, and related details as the new owners get ready to launch a new decade of hockey in Corpus Christi.
