November 18, 2008 - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SELENA AUDITORIUM
Celebrate tonight with B.B. King, tickets still available!
American Bank Center/SMG happily celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Selena Auditorium today! Mayor Henry Garrett today proclaimed November 18, 2008 as “Selena Auditorium 30th Anniversary” at City Hall.
The proclamation was presented to John Meyer, Director of Convention Center Operations and Ruben Ramirez, Event Coordinator at American Bank Center. Meyer and Ramirez have been a part of Selena Auditorium since it opened in 1978, working with promoters and legendary artists throughout the years to bring the best entertainment to the building. “The Selena Auditorium will be around for many more years to come. The venue has unmistakable character and historical significance that continues to draw notable entertainers,” says Meyer. Ramirez adds, “The community has been very supportive and it’s been a privilege serving our patrons over the last 30 years. I’ve come to recognize many of them as they walk through the doors, we’re like a family.”
The official celebration begins tonight with a private reception for Selena Auditorium supporters at 6:00pm followed by B.B. King live in concert at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available for tonight’s concert at the American Bank Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at (361) 881-8499.
