November 18, 2008 - 2009 AUTO SHOW THIS WEEKEND!

The 2009 International Auto Show Coastal Bend hits the American Bank Center November 21 – 23, 2008. Open to the public, the show will feature displays from manufacturers representing many of the franchises throughout the Coastal Bend, such as Chevrolet, Saturn, Toyota, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Suzuki.

There are some vehicles that are not even at the dealerships yet. For example, Suzuki is showcasing the all-new Equator truck, making its South Texas premier. Toyota is bringing the Home Depot NASCAR racecar and the new Toyota crossover vehicle, the 2009 Venza, which will not be seen at a dealership until late December. Visitors to the show can also see the all-new 2009 Dodge Ram Crew Cab 1500 and Chevrolet’s new Tahoe Hybrid and Malibu Hybrid.

In addition to the display of the newest vehicles in the market, Coastal A’s and Rods will showcase their best collection of classic cars and hotrods next to all of the 2009 cars in the showroom. They will have more than 20 antique models at the event.

PALS Animal Shelter will be joining the massive display of vehicles as well. The shelter will bring precious animals for visitors to see, hold, and hopefully adopt! Food donations will also be accepted.

The public can expect to win thousands of dollars in gas at the Auto Show. Throughout the entire weekend $100 in Valero gift cards will be given away almost every hour, and $1,000 will be given away to one lucky winner each day (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) at 5:30pm! No purchase necessary.

The Auto Show will be open Friday and Saturday, November 21 – 22, 10:00am – 7:00pm and Sunday, November 23, 12:00pm – 6:00pm. Tickets are $5.00. Children 12 and under are admitted free. $1.00 off Admission Coupons can be printed at www.caller.com.

Being held for only the second time at the American Bank Center since its last show in 1999, the Coastal Bend New Car Dealers Association (CBNCDA) expects approximately 30,000 visitors to the Convention Center.

“While the event is not a ‘selling’ show, it is the best way to see and compare almost all makes and models of vehicles for sale,” states Amanda Lundquist Shea, President of the CBNCDA. “If you are in the market now for a new automobile or expect to be in the next year, you will not want to miss this event,” she added. “Considering the increasing economic and environmental concerns of today’s consumers, I anticipate most of the manufacturers exhibiting innovative and alternative vehicles at the Auto Show,” said Shea.

With approximately 18 members, CBNCDA is the local representation for the franchised automobile industry in the Coastal Bend.
