SMG Pours Sweat and Soul into Cherished Venue
SMG is inviting the media to the summer 2009 “We Care” event. Photographers are invited to take pictures or video of SMG employees as they actively participate in the We Care program to improve the appearance of the area outside American Bank Center, including streets, parking lots and flower beds. SMG previously employed the We Care program to improve the condition of dressing rooms and the backstage area of American Bank Center Selena Auditorium, much to the delight of visiting artists and performers.
The We Care program was established by the local SMG management company to encourage staff to participate in maintaining the condition of American Bank Center. American Bank Center’s General Manager, Marc Solis, has seen the dramatic difference We Care has made. He says, “We feel this program is important not only for the building, but for the employees too. By volunteering their time and energy into physically painting, cleaning and landscaping the building, our staff gains appreciation for American Bank Center and its beauty and purpose. We care about the building, we treat it as our home and we want to maintain its status as Corpus Christi’s jewel.”
