June 30, 2009 - The 2009 Corpus Christi Extravaganza, scheduled for Thursday, September 10th at American Bank Center Arena, will feature 2008's CMA's Vocal Duo of the Year, Sugarland. A Multi-platinum group, Sugarland will be joined by country music artist, Billy Currington and singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson.
The STARS Student Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to qualified students of South Texas annually and partners with area colleges/universities to better serve the students of South Texas. We are excited to announce STARS will continue its partnership with Texas A&M; University Corpus Christi, Del Mar College and Texas A&M; University - Kingsville for the coming year.
South Texas Academic Rising Scholars (STARS), a non-profit organization founded in 2002, is based upon the conviction that an educated citizen is essential to the growth and future success of South Texas. STARS Student Scholarship Fund provides access to post-secondary education to students of our community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
The STARS Student Scholarship Fund depends on the support of corporate sponsors, foundations and individuals to achieve its goal of assisting and increasing the number of promising students that are able to attend the college or university of their choice. |
