October 21, 2009 - Hammerheads are back in American Bank Center!
The Hammerheads will be entering their 7th season in March, 2010. The team has posted a 55-33 record during that time and played in three Championship games (2006-2008). The past 3 seasons the Hammerheads have called the Central Pavilion Arena in Robstown home. In the 2 years prior to that the team played at the American Bank Center in front crowds of nearly 7,000 fans.
The team has once again made the decision to play its home games at the state of the art American Bank Center. “The American Bank Center will be the nicest building in the 22 team Indoor Football League,” stated Team Owner Chad Dittman. “It is very exciting for our organization and fans to have the opportunity once again to play our home games at such a beautiful facility,” added Dittman. American Bank Center/SMG General Manager Marc Solis, mirrors the good sentiment saying, “We’re pleased to continue to bring our patrons indoor arena football with a quality team. The Hammerheads have proven they have a strong presence and stability in this market and we can’t wait to open up our building to their fans again, welcome home Hammerheads!”
“We met with both the American Bank Center Representatives and the Global Spectrum representatives and reviewed proposals from each building and just felt the American Bank Center was the right choice for us to provide longevity of the franchise, “added Dittman. “I want to thank Global Spectrum and the County Officials and all of our fans who stuck with us for the past three seasons,” remarked Dittman.
In the 6 six seasons of Hammerheads football the team has averaged 3,766 fans per game. “We expect to have an amazing year on and off the field,” stated Director of Marketing Robert Wehling. The Indoor Football League is growing and has added multiple teams this offseason including 2 in Texas with the Austin Turfcats and the Amarillo Dusters.
Season Tickets are available immediately starting at only $65 and can be purchased by calling the team offices at 814-PASS or by visiting the Hammerheads website at www.cchammerheads.com. Individual game tickets will range from $7-$37 per ticket.
