Roland McDonald House Charities of Corpus Christi will hold the 8th Annual Casa de Amor at the American Bank Center on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 6:30pm. This year’s event is chaired by State Representative Todd Hunter and wife, Alexis and will feature special guest, Jenna Bush Hager.
Jenna Hager voices a fresh a positive message showing how lives can be changed when provided with compassion, community support and educational opportunities. An established humanitarian, Jenna is also an author, a contributing correspondent for NBC’s Today Show, and chair of UNICEF’s “Next Generation.” Jenna is the granddaughter and daughter to former presidents George H. and George W. Bush.
The Roland McDonald House Charities will also be recognizing J.A. (Tony) and Yolanda Canales on September 15th for their dedication to the organization and the community. Tickets and sponsorships for the 8th Annual Casa de Amor are available with profits going towards the charities’ mission to provide comfort, safety and advocacy in a home-like environment for families dealing with critically ill or injured children who must travel to fulfill their healthcare needs.
The Ronald McDonald House has provided lodging for families using area hospitals and doctors for appointments and treatments for twenty years. During that time, the charity has provided approximately over 150,000 room nights to families.
