Discover the Dinosaurs is a unique, hands-on exhibit, consisting of moving and replica dinosaurs that you can actually touch! Beyond the exhibit, additional activities are available for kids of all ages including riding a dinosaur, themed inflatables, a dino dig, and gem and fossil panning. Bring the entire family, and spend the day with dinosaurs!
Moving DinosaursIn this Dinosaur exhibit, the Dinosaurs come to life! Walk through jungle-like scenes and see realistic Dinosaurs in their natural environment. Watch them as they watch you! Hear them roar, see them move, and experience what it's like to come face to face with moving, breathing Dinosaurs! No matter what your age, this is a fun experience not found in museums. |
Realistic ScenesDiscover the Dinosaurs features a walk through exhibit that consists of dinosaur scenes. Each scene represents dinosaurs from a period of time that best reflects when the dinosaurs lived. The scenes engage you with sight, sound, and motion by using special lighting, sound effects, animatronics, and fog. The backdrops, rocks, flooring, and plant materials are designed to bring you back in time to a landscape where dinosaurs lived. |
About Discover the Dinosaurs
The goal of Discover the Dinosaurs is to create a fun environment of learning and activity that explores the wonderment and mystery of our pre-historic past.
Discover the Dinosaurs has two main areas to explore
THE EXHIBIT
Each Discover the Dinosaurs scene showcases dinosaurs in the period of time that reflects when the dinosaurs lived. Engaging the senses, each scene includes static and animatronic dinosaurs surrounded by lighting, sound effects and fog. Pick up a scavenger hunt at the entrance to track the dinosaurs throughout the exhibit!
ADDITIONAL FUN STUFF
Scavenger Hunt: Discover the answer to each scavenger hunt question by tracking the dinosaurs throughout the exhibit!
Dinosaur Rides: Hop in the saddle and ride on the back of a T-Rex or Triceratops! They’re not too scary, but a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a great photo op!
Dino Dig: A fun way to experience being a Jr. Paleontologist, brush away sand to reveal the dinosaur fossils beneath.
Dino Theater(s): Watch both educational and entertaining movies on our dinosaur-sized screen!
Dino Den: Whimsical and colorful dinosaurs designed for the youngest dino fans to sit on, hug and touch!
Inflatables: Jump, slide and play in our dinosaur themed inflatables. (Note: height and weight restrictions can be found here.)
Mini Golf: Whether you get a hole in one, par or bogey, you’ll have fun at every turn on the dino themed course.
Gem and Fossil Panning*: Purchase a bag of mining rough and step up to the sluice to shake it out, panning in the running water to reveal the gems and fossils. You can also explore the mine with a headlamp-equipped hardhat to find hidden rocks, gems, and fossils located in the dark mineshaft.
Dino Face painting*: Professional face painters offer simple dinosaur designs to full-face painting for purchase. Our dinosaur designs are fun, leaving smiles and a memorable impression that goes home with you!
*Select activities, including gem and fossil mining and face painting, are available for an additional charge.
