Event Details: The Junior League of Corpus Christi (JLCC) will host its fifth annual Fairy Tale Ball fundraiser, Saturday, January 23, 2010.

The Fairy Tale Ball, co-chaired by Emily Martinez and Katia McCabe, is a black tie optional event highlighting fairy tale themes. This year's ball will honor the work and educational efforts of Dr. Stephen Ponder, director of the Children's Diabetes and Endocrine Center of South Texas at Driscoll Children's Hospital.

The Fairy Tale Ball will take place at 8:00pm on January 23rd with a live and silent auction, heavy hor'dourves, libations and dancing featuring the music of The M-80s and their memorable tribute to the sounds of the 1980s. Tables will be decorated featuring fairy tale and literary themes.

Individual tickets are $50 per person and sponsored tables of eight are $500. For more information, call 361-884-3000.

Proceeds will support JLCC's current initiative of educating children and adults of the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle to conquer childhood obesity through projects such as Kids in the Kitchen and Playground Pals.

The Junior League of Corpus Christi, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. It's purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
